Steel cable carriers from TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP – a sustainable standard for rough environments

Steel is here to stay – cable carriers for extreme challenges

When things get tough, TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP relies on steel. The cable carriers from the S/SX series can withstand extreme conditions – reliable, durable, and well designed. They come into their own where heat, dirt, high loads, and mechanical strains push other systems to their limits. In addition to this, the steel cable carriers support sustainability and protect resources in industrial applications.

The cable carriers from the S/SX series from TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP have been considered indispensable for particularly tough industrial applications for decades. In rolling mills, on offshore platforms and drilling rigs, or in the chemical industry, they run reliably even in conditions that quickly push other systems to their limits.

“Steel is not nostalgic loyalty, but a technically and ecologically sensible decision,” stresses Werner Eul, Head of Industry & Product Management at TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP. “We are seeing many applications where our steel cable carriers have been in use for decades. This level of durability is an often underestimated contribution to sustainability – no marketing labels required.”

Robust technology, durable design
The side bands of the S/SX series are made of galvanized steel or – for highly aggressive environments – stainless steel. In combination with sturdy aluminum stay variants, they offer a robust, maintenance-free solution for a variety of different applications. The high strength of the material allows for more compact steel cable carriers that can be used for significantly larger unsupported lengths in the same space – with loads of several hundred kilograms per meter.

In addition to this, steel cable carriers can withstand extreme temperatures: Galvanized variants can resist up to 400 °C for short periods, stainless steel cable carriers even up to 1 000 °C. This qualifies them for use in industrial furnaces, foundries, galvanizing workshops, or power plants. The portfolio also includes models that are resistant to UV radiation and sea water for offshore applications.

No oil, no wear, no waste
Another benefit: The cable carriers from the S/SX series are completely maintenance-free, requiring neither lubricants nor regular adjustments. A specially developed open stroke system with a self-cleaning effect reduces dirt adhesion and prevents wear-related failures – design aspects that are essential in particular in adverse ambient conditions. And when the service life finally does come to its end, steel still remains true to its qualities: The cable carriers can be almost completely recycled.

From oil wells to aerial work platforms
The requirements for cable carrier systems are as varied as the industries where they are used. The S/SX series offers a wide range of sizes and variants and can be adapted to specific application conditions as needed. TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP not only remains true to its traditions, but enhances them consistently – adapted to modern requirements, but with the proven properties of a material that has never lost its relevance.
