FUCHS chooses cable carrier competence from TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP

Height adjustable cab with secure connection

The height adjustable cab of the FUCHS material handlers from the new G series presents special challenges for cable routing. Hydraulics, electrics, lubrication, heating and air conditioning have to be safely routed from the main machine to the cab – also while the cab is moving. FUCHS selected the KC0900 cable carrier with RS stays from the Vario line from TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP for this task.

FUCHS have been developing special solutions for material handling for over 135 years – from the recycling and scrap industry to port logistics and the timber industry. The new G series, specifically the MHL340 G and MHL350 G, was selected to implement a new technical solution for cable routing on the height adjustable cab, among other things. The objective was to achieve reliable guiding and easy installation of all cables and hoses from the main machine to the cab.

“The task was to design the routing of the hydraulics, electrical, lubrication, heating and air conditioning systems in such a way that everything is protected and easily accessible while looking neat and tidy,” explains Martin Bosler, Head of Application Centre and Product Management at FUCHS. “A particular focus was placed on easy and time saving installation and a clear cost advantage over the previous design. In addition to all this, the solution had to work for not just one model, but across several model series.”

Vario-Line: hybrid cable carriers with flexible inner distribution
TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP resolved this task with the KC0900 with RS stays from the Vario-Line, which is used in the machine models MHL340 G and MHL350 G in different widths and lengths. The hybrid cable carrier is supplemented with a strain relief comb from the UNIFLEX Advanced 1665 series. The code RS comes from the German term for “narrow frame stays”. The aluminium stays are available in a 1-mm grid and can be installed without screws. Different divider systems can be used to precisely adapt the inner distribution to the variety of cables and hoses between the cab and the working unit. The service points remain accessible, which facilitates working on the system.

High adaptability, easy installation
For this application, the cable carrier does not move, but rather serves as a rigid cable and hose management system that not only contributes to a long service life of the components, but also presents a neat and tidy overall appearance.

The combination of sturdy design, great flexibility and easy installation convinced the customer. In addition to this, the KC0900 offers a platform that can also be used in future FUCHS models with only minor adaptations. “We wanted an economical and reliable solution that also reduces the installation effort,” says Martin Bosler. “With the KC0900, we have achieved exactly that.”
